The girls’ cross-country team is not backing down and is still producing results even with their smaller roster. The girls team sent one runner to the Washington Interscholastic Athletics Association division 3 championship.
Elsa ’29 finished 33rd overall in the division three race, and was the only female athlete from MCDS who competed at state. Lee states that she is “consistently placing top-20 in my meets,” and is “always improving my time.”

Lee finished in a time 20:18.5 minutes at a pace of 6:33 on the Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.

She states that she achieved new personal records and “cut off eight minutes from my previous time.”
With head coach Joe Prestigiacomo and the help of new assistant coaches, the girls team is an increasingly strong contender in local meets. Presley ’29 was given the Trailways All-Conference Sportsmanship award. Presley also achieved new personal records, including cutting an impressive eight minutes from her previous best.
Look out from more impressive speed as the the girls’ cross-country continues to grow. In the meantime, they certainly prove that small can be mighty.
